| Is a medical required to work offshore? |
| Yes, an Offshore Medical is a legal requirement for anyone who is going to work offshore. |

| What is involved with an offshore medical? |
| The offshore medical examination includes; a general questionnaire, a health check which includes: height, weight, eyesight, blood pressure, hearing test, urine sample and finally a physical examination to the current offshore guidelines.

| How do I book a medical? |
| Call 01224 566500, a member of our helpful Administration Team will take you through the booking process. |

| Where do I go for my medical? |
| Our main office is based at 213 George Street, Aberdeen. We also have an office in Petrofac Training, Blackness Avenue, Altens, Aberdeen for delegates wishing to combine their survival training with their medical examination. |

| When should I book my medical? |
| As soon as possible to avoid any disappointment. |

| How do I pay for my medical? |
| Payment will be taken at the time of booking. |

| Do I need to do my survival training before I book my medical? |
| No, you can do your offshore medical either before, during or after your survival training. |

| I’m doing a survival course, how do I book a medical at your Altens office? |
| Once you have booked your survival course and received your confirmation e-mail from Petrofac Training, telephone 01224 566500 with your survival course e-mail at hand as details from this are required when booking your medical. |

| Does drug and alcohol screening come as standard in the offshore medical? |
| No. Drug and alcohol screening is additional if it is required. |

| How long will my offshore certificates be valid for? |
| The UK, Norwegian and Dutch Certificates are valid for 2 years for everyone although the examining doctor has the discretion to say you must have your next medical in less than 2 years. |

| What are the benefits of having an offshore medical and certificates? |
| As they are a legal requirement for going offshore, they will allow you to work in your chosen career. It may help you to be offered a job if you already have Offshore Medical certificates. |
