| Some occupations carry a risk of disease from blood and water borne viruses, for example healthcare workers and sewage workers.

| A qualified nurse will perform a risk assessment, considering your working conditions and any hazards you may be exposed to at work.

| The nurse will discuss and plan an immunisation programme for you, to give you the best possible protection. You will also receive information about your immunisations and on protecting yourself from exposure to biohazards at work.

Flu Vaccination Programme
Winter sickness is costly and disruptive for businesses. By protecting your workforce against influenza, you can help to minimise sickness absence over the winter months.
Flu is a seasonal virus and although it usually strikes in January and February, we recommend immunisation in early autumn for best protection against the predicted strain of flu for the coming winter.

| Welder’s Pneumonia Vaccination |
|
| Welders and other workers exposed to metal fumes should receive a simple, low cost vaccination that can prevent serious lung disease and even save their lives. |
|
| A new review of the evidence published in the scientific journal Occupational Medicine found that welders die more often from certain types of pneumonia and that they should be offered the PPV23 vaccination so that potentially fatal lung disease can be prevented. |
|
